In this exciting and “wave of the future” treatment, a topical ointment is applied to the skin for 30 to 90 minutes and is then removed. Patients then receive 20 minutes of painless, in-office blue light or red light to the treated area. Sunscreens are applied and vigorous sun avoidance is required for 24 to 48 hours following the procedure. This is a truly amazing treatment for acne, actinic keratoses (pre-cancerous lesions) and sun damage. The Omnilux Blue Light Acne and Red LightTreatment is an excellent pain-free, non-invasive treatment for moderate inflammatory acne for all age groups. It effectively targets acne-causing bacteria without thermally affecting surrounding tissues. There are no known side effects and in my opinion, this can be a first line therapy for those who cannot or do not want to take oral antibiotics. This treatment can clear most moderate inflammatory acne in as little as 8 sessions (twice a week for 20 minutes for 4 weeks) but it is important to adhere to the recommended treatment plan for maximum results. Treatment sessions can be scheduled conveniently after school so bring your CD player!!!

Laser Hair Removal
